Description
Il progetto per la realizzazione del nuovo Evangeliario ambrosiano, ha dato modo alla Commissione di entrare in stretta e continuativa relazione con gli artisti contemporanei chiamati con le loro opere ad affiancare la Parola evangelica per annunciarne l’efficacia salvifica attraverso forme e colori davvero originali. Gli stessi artisti hanno avuto l’umiltà e la saggezza di conoscere e approfondire i testi sacri attraverso apposite schede esegetiche, liturgiche e pastorali. Così hanno potuto poi “immergere” la loro specificità e valenza artistica in tale Parola e creare tavole di affascinante bellezza e di profondo significato. Ben a ragione questo Evangeliario può considerarsi il “bel frutto” di una coraggiosa, rinnovata, auspicabile e necessaria intesa tra arte contemporanea e fede.
The project to achieve the new Ambrosian Evangeliary has permitted to the Commission to enter in a close and continue relationship with contemporary artists, who were called to accompany the Gospels Word with their works, so that they could announce its redeeming efficacy through forms and colours that are original indeed. The same artists have got the humility and wisdom of knowing and deepening their knowledge of sacred texts by means of exegetical, liturgical and pastoral special aids. So they were able “to immerse” their specific and artistic value in such a Word and create tables of fascinating beauty and deep significance. This Evangeliary can be considered with good reason a “beautiful fruit” of a courageous, renewed, desirable and necessary agreement between contemporary art and Christian faith.
