ABSTRACT – Bertrando Spaventa, forerunner of Croce and Gentile. Spaventa’s philosophy
presents itself essentially as a method of research on the free Thinking and on the
not-definitive Being, and it is different from Hegel’s philosophy because the thought
doesn’t die out in the Nihilism in the opposition to the thought, but it is different from it.
Croce and Gentile have the same purposes, they carry on the Spaventa’s ideas. They give
previous said questions a suitable solution by independent and completely different
answers from the next fate of Being and of Thinking.
